The short answer

A two-day brand film for a custom home builder runs $3,950 with us: two Local shoot days at $1,100/day, the one-time $250 planning fee, and a $1,500 flat-rate edit for the finished two-minute piece. Add drone at no charge. The national range for the same deliverable is $7,500 to $12,000 through an agency.

What a brand film is for

A custom home builder does not sell a product. They sell trust in a two-year relationship and a seven-figure decision. Photos of finished houses prove you can build; they do not prove what it is like to work with you. The brand film is the piece that does. It is the video a homeowner watches the night before the first meeting, and it is what your sales lead sends when they hear “we are talking to three builders.”

What goes in it

Four things, in roughly this order. The owner on camera, in a finished home, saying in their own words why they build the way they do. Two or three clients in their houses, talking about the process rather than the result. The build itself: framing, trades on site, the walkthrough, the drone pass. And the reveal, a finished home shot at golden hour with the family in it.

What does not go in it: a script the owner reads, stock footage, a voiceover that sounds like a bank, and any shot of a logo spinning.

What it costs

Day one is the owner interview and one finished home, plus the drone. Day two is two client interviews and an active site. That is $2,200 in day rate, $250 in planning, and $1,500 for the edit. Flat rate, never hourly, so the number does not move if the cut takes longer. If a third day is needed to catch a second active site, add $1,100/day. The whole thing, filmed and finished, is inside what most builders spend on one month of a print ad nobody reads.

Two days or one

One day works if you have one finished home, one client willing to be filmed there the same day, and the owner. It produces a shorter film, ninety seconds, for $2,850, and it is a fair place to start. Two days is the version that gets used for years. The second day is where the site footage and the second family come from, and those are the shots that separate you from the builder whose film is all drone and music.

Where it runs

The top of the homepage, the about page, and the first email a lead gets. Cut down to 30 seconds for a Meta ad aimed at the zip codes you build in. Cut down to 15 for the pre-roll on your own YouTube. The Content Retainer queue exists exactly for these cutdowns; a brand film is raw material for a year of clips.

Do you need one

If you are booked out eighteen months and turning work away, no. If you are losing bids to a builder whose work is not better than yours, yes, and the film is the cheapest thing on this list that fixes it. Book a call and we will tell you which one you are.
